Millennium Harvest House Boulder Brings Back the Sounds of Summer with Friday Afternoon Club
April 28, 2010 - Starting next month, the Millennium Harvest House Boulder will bring back the sounds of summer by kicking off their weekly concert series, the Friday Afternoon Club (FAC), on May 7th.
The place to be in Boulder throughout the 70's and 80's, the Millennium Harvest House FAC was known to cause a mini-exodus from the surrounding cities, with locals ditching their vehicles by the roadside traffic to walk to the property for an afternoon of free food and music. Retired through much of the '90's, but brought back in its current form in 2004, the Millennium Harvest House Boulder will feature a free live concert each week, with special entertainment for local families and visitors.
A far cry from their raucous beginnings, the hotel's Friday Afternoon Club now caters to local families and visiting guests, featuring live music, family-friendly events and activities like face painting, hand-drawn tattoos and balloon animals for the kids, food and beverage specials, and more than 30 local non-profit organizations. The 2010 musical lineup features local, regional and national artists playing an eclectic variety of music - including everything from rock-and-roll and Motown to reggae and violin-infused rock.
Not to be forgotten, the Millennium Harvest House Boulder also offers special activities for man's-best-friend, with the pet-friendly property introducing the Friday Afternoon Club “Yappy Hour,” where pet owners are provided with blankets and water bowls, with homemade doggie treats available for spoiled pups.
