JW Marriott Desert Ridge Chefs Preparing for 2010 World Pastry Team Championship
PHOENIX, AZ - May 6, 2010 - JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa Pastry Team USA, led by Executive Pastry Chef Kaushik Chowdhury, are preparing for the Amoretti 2010 World Pastry Team Championship being held at the resort July 5-6.
Chowdhury along with team members Melynda Gilmore and Keith Taylor, the resort's pastry supervisors, won the 2009 National Pastry Team Championship to advance as Team USA in this year's World Pastry Team Championship.
To win the nationals, teams were required to make a sugar showpiece, a chocolate showpiece, an entremet (cake), an entremet glacè (frozen dessert), three types of chocolate bonbons, a plated dessert and a chef's specialty creation. Chowdhury, who has received numerous accolades for his delectable accomplishments, manages the pastry team at JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa.
