June 28, 2010 - Hyatt Regency Orange County is proud to announce the completion of a $25 million property improvement project. This top to bottom renovation includes all 654 suites and guestrooms, the 17-story lobby and front desk, the addition of two new restaurants - TusCA and OC Brewhouse, an updated and expanded StayFit™ Fitness Center and all 65,000 square feet of meeting and event space, as well as the furnishings for two pool decks, tennis and basketball courts and exterior landscaping.

Located just minutes from Disneyland, Angel Stadium, the Anaheim Convention Center and the Honda Center, Hyatt Regency Orange County is a natural for Southern California family escapes, as well as a prime destination for corporate meetings, special events and weddings. Within a short driving distance, guests find world-famous beach towns such as Huntington Beach, Newport and Laguna, as well as top attractions including Knott's Berry Farm and Universal Studios. An onsite Disney Concierge and complimentary round trip transportation to Disneyland make Hyatt Regency Orange County ideal for families visiting the world-famous park. “We are thrilled to see the completion of this exciting renovation,” said General Manager Kevin Kennedy. “And, we are pleased to offer our guests not only an aesthetic upgrade but exemplary service, more convenience and an overall improved guest experience. We are confident that the changes will be immediately evident and we look forward to our guests' feedback.”

The renovation of public spaces, including the lobby and restaurants, was led by Looney & Associates. Under the umbrella theme of “Green Revolution,” Looney & Associates designed these spaces to enable guests to commune, retreat, connect and be energized. Organically inspired green elements are featured in the design to bring the regional outdoor environment into the interior.

A dramatic wall with magnificent imagery of local flora greets guests from behind centrally located registration kiosks. Hotel staff are no longer stationed behind traditional counters but interact with guests directly creating a more personal and satisfying exchange. Throughout the rest of the lobby, palm trees, natural rock and glass elements, curved pathways, canopied tables, serpentine booths and comfortable lounge seating create a welcoming oasis for guests.

TusCA and OC Brewhouse, the two new vibrant dining venues, are also located in the atrium lobby. TusCA, which features refined rustic Italian cuisine made with seasonal California ingredients and flair, is a relaxed upscale establishment led by native Italian Chef Laura De Martin. OC Brewhouse, is a new beer-forward concept featuring a wide array of Southern California microbrew drafts served through the Blizzard draft system at a chilly 29°. With five 50-inch and four 19-inch flat screen televisions, OC Brewhouse is an ideal place to relax and unwind while catching the news, a game or just socializing.

Meeting and event planners take note - the hotel's 65,000 square feet of event space have been thoroughly updated in both decor and functionality with new carpet and wall coverings. The 10,000 square-foot Royal Ballroom redesign includes fiber optic cabling, VGA outlets, wireless Internet and a state-of-the-art Lutron lighting system. Large outdoor events such as wedding receptions and corporate cocktail parties can be stylishly accommodated on a brick-paved entryway that wraps around a central garden and fountain.

Hyatt Regency Orange County's 654 guest rooms include 241 suites ranging from two Presidential suites where VIP's live like kings to 87 Two Bedroom Kid's Suites where kids get a room of their own with twin bunk beds, work table and flat screen television.
