August 2, 2010 - Francis Walters has joined Louisiana's Cypress Bend Resort as Director of Food & Beverage where he will oversee the resort's restaurants, bar, and banquet operations. Walters, a classically trained chef with more than 26 years of culinary experience, began his training under Maurice Couturier, an accomplished and renowned French Chef who was also a private chef to the late King Hussein of Jordan.

A member of the Chaine Des Rotisseurs, Walters previously served as executive chef of Sam Houston Race Park in Houston, Texas; Landry's Aquarium Restaurant in Kemah, Texas; and the legendary Rainbow Lodge restaurant in Houston.

“In addition to his experience as an executive chef, Francis' catering and event planning background will help us take our banquet offerings to the next level,” says Ron Gwin, general manager of the 95-guestroom resort.
