Bob Van Bergen Named Managing Director Holiday Isle

August 19, 2010 - Bob Van Bergen has been named managing director of Holiday Isle Beach Resort & Marina, the quintessential Florida Keys vacation destination. A 40-year veteran of the hospitality industry, Van Bergen joins Holiday Isle having most recently served as general manager of The Shores Resort and Spa in Daytona Beach Shores, Fla.

In his new position, Van Bergen is responsible for the daily operations of the 138-room resort as well as its ongoing capital improvement project, including a multi-million dollar room refurbishment currently underway.

During his career, Van Bergen has managed premier resorts and private clubs including 10 Four Diamond rated properties. Recent appointments include vice president of Ginn Sur Mer/Old Bahama Bay on Grand Bahama Island, Bahamas; and general manager for Ginn Reunion Resort in Orlando; Ginn Hammock Beach, Palm Coast, Florida; and Mountain Lodge at Telluride, Colo.

Van Bergen is a graduate of Kent State University in Ohio and has served on boards of a number of organizations including president of the Orlando Chapter of SKÅL (International Association of Travel & Tourism Professionals).
