Hilton San Diego Bayfront Names Jason Sliman Director of Banquets
SAN DIEGO, CA - November 15, 2010 - The Hilton San Diego Bayfront is proud to announce Jason Sliman as the new Director of Banquets. Jason joins the food and beverage team at the San Diego Bayfront with 19 years of experience in hotel banquet departments.
Jason began his career in 1991 as a Hilton Professional Development Trainee upon graduating with an Associates Degree in Culinary Arts from the Pittsburg Chef's Association and a Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management from Florida International University. He was an Assistant Restaurant Manager of a 1200-room convention property in Atlanta, Ga., and was promoted to Beverage Director in 1994. Jason spent three years working with ITT Sheraton Corporation where he found his true passion as Director of Banquets at the Sheraton Woodley Park Hotel. He was promoted to Food and Beverage Director of the New Sheraton Kauai Resort in Hawaii and managed the re-opening of the property.
In 1998, Jason returned to his passion as Director of Banquets at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel, where he managed the pre-opening details of the banquet department. After 10 consecutive years of skillfully managing the number one banquet department in the Loews Corporation, Jason was promoted to the Corporate Director of Banquets. In this position, Jason was directly responsible for all banquet departments in the 17 Loews Corporations Hotels and he developed training programs that standardized the service and presentation within the Loews Corporation. Jason enthusiastically joined Hilton Hotels & Resorts, previously known as Hilton Hotels Corporation, in 2009 to open the Hilton Orlando, a 1400-room convention resort with approximately 175,000 sq. ft. of meeting and banquet space. Jason's team quickly earned the ranking of the number one Banquet Team within Hilton Hotels & Resorts, according to Salt Survey Scores.
