Diana K. Bulger Appointed Area DoPR

November 22, 2010 - Diana K. Bulger has been appointed area director of public relations for The Fairmont Washington, D.C. and the new Fairmont Pittsburgh. The announcement was made by Paul S. Tormey, Regional Vice President & General Manager, The Fairmont Copley Plaza, George Terpilowski, General Manager, The Fairmont Washington, D.C. and Len Czarnecki, General Manager, Fairmont Pittsburgh.
Bulger joined the Fairmont Washington, D.C. in 2003 as director of public relations for the 415 room luxury hotel.
Prior to joining The Fairmont Washington, D.C., she was the vice president of D.C. based Hisaoka Public Relations where she spearheaded the public relations efforts for the opening of the first five Kimpton Hotels in Washington, D.C.
Previously, Bulger was regional director of public relations for Loews Hotels including Loews L'Enfant Plaza Hotel and Loews Annapolis Hotel from 1990 until 1998. She was the director of public relations for the Hotel Washington from 1988 until 1990, and assistant public relations manager for the Vista Hotel from 1984 until 1988.
An animal lover, Bulger founded the Bark Ball in 1988 for the Washington Humane Society, a black-tie ball benefiting homeless and abused animals in the nation's capital. She served on the WHS board of directors from 1988 - 1998. She also founded the Halloween Howl, a fundraiser for People Animals Love in 1999.
Bulger attended Franklin College in Lugano, Switzerland and Oldfield School in Glencoe, Maryland. She is a member of good standing of Destination D.C. and a two-term mayoral appointee to the D.C. Retirement Board. She resides in Washington, D.C. with her husband Thomas J. Bulger.
