Ritz-Carlton, Dubai Announces Allan Federer as GM
March 21, 2011 - Hotel veteran Allan Federer takes over the leadership reins as the new general manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai. Apart from the weighty task of leading an experienced team of 267 ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Federer is responsible for generating maximum revenue through effective sales and marketing, and preparing the hotel for its continued growth with the completion of its expansion project with great emphasis on high guest engagement through personalized service.
Mr. Federer has over 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry in senior management positions including sales and marketing across North America, Europe and Asia. Prior to his new Dubai appointment, Mr. Federer assumed leadership of The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain to complete the opening and remaining capital works to introduce the new resort to the North American meetings and luxury travel markets in end of 2009. Since then, he has led the property to achieve several successes including hosting the Accenture World Championship of Golf PGA Match Play Tournament, achieving top-five guest satisfactions levels within the company, and the golf operations have won every award by every major golf publications.
A Canadian national, Mr. Federer has held five general manager positions in the last 10 years within The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company L.L.C. Other properties he has successfully managed include The Ritz-Carlton hotels in Powerscourt in Ireland, Singapore, Istanbul and Montreal. He has also held several senior regional positions in a number of luxury and boutique hotels in North America.
An avid traveller, Mr. Federer read History and Literature in the University of London and completed the Advanced Management Program at the School of Hospitality at Cornell University.
