Radisson Blu Glasgow Completes Renovation

June 22, 2011 - The Rezidor Hotel Group, one of the fastest growing hotel companies worldwide, is pleased to announce the completion of refurbishment work on Radisson Blu Glasgow. Originally opened in 2002, the hotel's newly completed renovations focus on its 250 guestrooms.

All guestrooms have been given new decor, furniture and furnishings to support the modern, cosmopolitan feel that is a Radisson Blu trademark. Brand heritage dates back to the 1960 opening of modernist Arne Jacobsen's design of the Radisson Blu Royal Copenhagen.

Guestrooms have been designed in two distinctive styles. Gallery Rooms provide a dark ambience with lush carpets, artwork from award-winning photographer Brian Sweeny, and vintage posters from Glasgow's iconic music hangout, Sub Club. The design concept was to reinforce the hotel's proximity to Glasgow's legendary clubs and music venues. City Club Rooms offer a light and airy space with wooden floors, splashes of red furniture and sub-culture artwork.

Radisson Blu Glasgow has also added new in-room amenities such as iPod docking stations to complement existing brand amenities such as free wifi throughout the hotel.
