ATLANTA - July 26, 2011 - MODO Hotels, Inc., expands its executive team to include Danny Lee as vice president of finance and development. He brings to the new music-inspired lifestyle hotel company a depth of experience, having spent the past 12 years working in hospitality and real estate on both a domestic and global scale.

"We're delighted to welcome Danny to the MODO family,” says John Russell, CEO, MODO Hotels. “He joins us with extensive background in project analysis, finance and operations and a proven track record of successful brand growth. I'm confident Danny will be a tremendous asset to MODO's development in the U.S. and international markets.”

Lee began his career with the Chicago office of LaSalle Investment Management, where he was responsible for analyzing, underwriting and acquiring real estate assets on behalf of institutional and high net-worth clients. He worked on acquisitions ranging from ground-up development projects to large existing commercial and multi-family properties.

During his six years with LaSalle, Lee also served in the New York office as part of the team that developed and managed an $800 million pension fund portfolio. It consisted of two South Florida properties - Diplomat Resort and Spa and Diplomat Country Club - totaling 1,060 rooms; a 135-unit, high-rise luxury condominium; a 250,000 square-foot convention center; 50,000 square feet of retail space; and a two-acre residential land parcel. The multifaceted development project was widely regarded as one of the most challenging in the U.S. Lee played a key role in budgeting, strategic planning, reporting, construction and hotel operations, helping to complete the project from the development period through the ramp-up of hotel operations.

More recently, Lee was a vice president with HSBC Securities (USA), Inc., one of the world's largest providers of securities and fund services. He managed two real estate funds totaling $1.7 billion, comprised primarily of commercial assets throughout the U.S. and Europe. In this position, he directed the structuring of complex global real estate transactions and partnerships and managed investor relations with HSBC Private Bank.

Before joining MODO, Lee was a founding principal of Sole East, where he acquired, redeveloped, rebranded and asset managed two hotel properties in Montauk, N.Y., on Long Island's picturesque eastern shore. Additionally, Lee served as chief operating officer of Dupoux Partners, New York City, an award-winning firm providing architectural, hospitality development and consulting services for domestic and international clients. As COO, he directed operations for all aspects of the business, including strategic planning, budgeting, cash flow management and legal matters.

Lee graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in industrial engineering. He lives with his wife, Christine, in New York City.
