Gateway, CO - August 2, 2011 - Gateway Canyons Resort is on the move, repositioning and expanding its brand with the help of its new hospitality management team at Noble House Hotels and Resorts. Together, they are preparing to move forward with plans to renovate and redevelop existing facilities, build additional resort amenities and adjust the location of certain services to benefit both Gateway Canyons' guests and the community of Gateway, Colorado.

“Each phase in the evolution of Gateway Canyons Resort over the past five years has been a step towards reaching our vision of an exceptional guest experience. In conjunction with our Noble House partnership, the final steps outlined in these plans are the realization of our goals for the resort and fulfillment of our vision,” said John Hendricks, Gateway Canyons Resort owner and founder of the Discovery Channel.

To date, Gateway Canyons Resort has offered a mix of accommodations, ranging from value-priced rooms to exclusive multi-room suites. Under Noble House management, the guest accommodations will become aligned for the first time, with all rooms offering premium lodging. The existing Dolores River Inn will be refurbished and re-launched as the new Kayenta Lodge in the spring of 2012, and will feature 20 units, all suites or junior suites appointed with quality furnishings, fireplaces, free-standing bathtubs, and either courtyards or balconies for viewing the spectacular landscape. Less extensive improvements will be made to the current Kiva Lodge, including in-room refurbishments, poolside cabanas, fire pits, new furniture and fixtures.

One of the most exciting additions coming to Gateway Canyons will be the Palisade Casitas scheduled to debut in 2013. These 18 units will be made up of two different designs: the Hacienda and the Stargazer. Scattered across an area in excess of five acres, the Casitas will offer a secluded getaway for guests who desire privacy with convenient access to Gateway Canyons' amenities. The Hacienda units will feature two-bedroom suites with a lock-off and a central living area. Highlights of the Stargazer units will include paired one-bedroom suites with the larger unit offering a second level loft. All Casitas will feature exterior courtyards, garden showers, premium bathrooms and living areas.

The comprehensive improvements to the property will also include the expansion of guest activities and resort amenities. In addition to Gateway Canyons Adventure Center, the Gateway Colorado Auto Museum and the Stables at Gateway Canyons, the resort will be adding a Wellness Center, as well as additional treatment rooms and services at the Spa at Gateway Canyons. Another amenity that will benefit resort guests, especially groups, will be the expansion of the Palisade Event Center, with more flexible meeting space to accommodate a variety of group dining and meeting requirements.

Slated to open in 2013 is the new Palisade Pool, which will be situated near the Palisade Event Center. The installation of the pool is in anticipation of the first homes to be developed at Gateway Canyons, which will be offered for sale to the public starting in 2014. Called Little Canyon, these inaugural homes will be located near the resort, in an intimate area closer to the canyon walls. The residences will mirror elements that guests may first enjoy in the Palisade Casitas, but in a larger footprint.

In the near future, the resort plans to move its Outpost General Store (grocery market, delicatessen, and fuel station) to an appropriate off-site location that is more convenient to Gateway community residents. With the relocation, the Outpost will be of greater service to the families of Gateway and will help support the growth of the town. As a part of the transition, Gateway Canyons will modify its resort entry to accommodate curbside service that includes a porte cochere typical in a traditional Noble House destination. The paved parking area that once served the Outpost will become more green and guest friendly with the installation of native plants, ponds and other landscaping features. Existing geothermal systems will also be enhanced, improving the output and decreasing the overall environmental impact of the resort.

Jake Donoghue, Chief Executive Officer for Noble House Hotels & Resorts, expresses, “We look forward to working with the existing natural surroundings and vision of the Hendricks family for the next phase of the resort. Through further incorporation of the landscape and natural elements into the property, the traveler's experience is enhanced through unique experiences and memories.”

Beyond premium accommodations and outstanding guest service and amenities, Noble House is renowned for their exceptional dining experiences. The Entrada Restaurant and Lounge will become a new gastronomic focal point for the resort. Planned changes include an expanded indoor-outdoor lounge area and a mouthwatering new menu. Another dining venue that will experience significant changes is the Kiva Cafe. Here guests will see expanded menu selection, hours of operation, and service to the Kiva Lodge and Kiva Pool area.
