Elegant Renovations Complete at Carnegie Inn & Spa
Grand Opening of "The ESSpa at the Carnegie Inn"
State College, PA - August 15, 20110 - Carnegie Inn & Spa, formerly the Carnegie House, a boutique hotel and luxury restaurant located in State College, Pennsylvania, is announcing their Grand Opening after extensive planning, renovations and additions.
Carnegie Inn & Spa, recipient of the AAA Four Diamond Award for exceptional lodging, recently completed major interior and exterior renovations of the hotel and restaurant. In addition, the property has chosen the distinguished entity ESSpa to create “The ESSpa at the Carnegie Inn.” ESSpa is owned and operated by Hungarian skin care expert, Eva Kerschbaumer, who also founded ESSpa Kozmetika, in Pittsburgh. This award winning facility has been recognized as “The Best Spa in America” by the publication Industry Source and the “Best Skincare” in Western Pennsylvania by Pittsburgh Magazine.
The western wing of the Inn was expanded to create the spa, which accommodates 7 private treatment suites, steam rooms, a state-of-the-art manicure/pedicure area and a signature “relaxation area” overlooking the 17th Green of Toftrees Golf Resort -- rated 4 ½ stars by Golf Digest Magazine's “Places to Play” and “One of Pennsylvania's Best Public Golf Courses”.
The ESSpa at the Carnegie Inn offers organic facials, massages, wraps and scrubs, vegan manicures and pedicures. ESSpa offers over-night spa and wellness packages. ESSpa plans on making the Carnegie Inn & Spa one of the premier destination spas in North America.
The elegant restaurant within Carnegie Inn & Spa, showcased by award winning Executive Chef Lisa Palermo, offers guests with a wide array of seasonal appetizers, entrees and desserts. In addition to a fine dining menu, Chef Palermo has created light and delicious luncheon specialties to compliment the healthy spa atmosphere.
Guests will notice many exterior enhancements as they arrive at Carnegie Inn & Spa including unique and elegant stone that integrate with the charm of the surrounding woods and inviting entrance. Upon arrival, each guest is invited to relax by the fireplace in the library, or in a cozy, fireside reading nook, where patrons may savor complimentary hors d'oeuvres, and an extensive list of wine and cocktails.
Wine connoisseurs will be impressed with a beautiful climate-controlled wine cellar located within the lobby. A large window facing the entrance allows guests to review the extensive selection of wine.
Carnegie Inn & Spa's 20 uniquely decorated guest rooms have been updated with new lighting fixtures, wall coverings, furnishings and quality sound control. For the convenience of all guests, an elevator was installed to service the 2nd and 3rd floors of the East Wing.
The redesigned space and facility expansion at the Carnegie Inn & Spa has increased capacity for corporate retreats, specialty dining, intimate special events and business meetings. The award winning menus and customer service, coupled with ESSpa, will continue to position the Carnegie Inn & Spa as the leader in guest accommodations and special events for Central Pennsylvania.
M. John Lew Architects, LLC and Poole Anderson Construction collaborated on the project.
Paula Cipar of Morpheus, A Design Studio designed the new guestrooms and Susan Brown of Spaces Design Center designed the interior concept of the spa area.
