The Hotel at Auburn Univeristy Welcomes New Director of Restaurant Operations

AUBURN, AL - October 5, 2011 - The Hotel at Auburn University is proud to introduce Muhammad Nadeem as the new Director of Restaurant Operations for Ariccia Trattoria & Bar and Piccolo. He brings with him many years of restaurant operations experience from award-winning restaurants located throughout Virginia. As Director of Operations at the hotel, Nadeem will continue to work with the chefs to develop seasonal menus for Ariccia and Piccolo, as well as oversee the services and staffs of both restaurants. In addition to his responsibilities at the hotel, Nadeem will be teaching a practicum class at Auburn University for students majoring in Hotel and Restaurant Management, where he will lecture once a week about restaurant operations.

Before joining The Hotel at Auburn University, Nadeem was responsible for the oversight of restaurant, banquets and room service operations at Domaso at Hotel Palomar in Rosslyn, Va.; Jackson 20 at Hotel Monaco; and The Grille at Morrison House Hotel in Old Town Alexandria, Va., all part of KIMPTON Hotel & Restaurants. As the Restaurant Manager, and later Assistant General Manager at Domaso, Nadeem assisted in new restaurant openings, as well as worked closely with the executive team to expand the restaurant's seasonal beverages and cocktails. In addition, he also oversaw the expansion of Domaso's catering business and managed the service training, counseling and coaching of his employees.

Ariccia Italian Trattoria & Bar is located in The Hotel at Auburn University, 241 S. College Street in Auburn. An open kitchen and outdoor terrace seating add character to this restaurant which serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, cocktails, Sunday Brunch, and offers take-out service. Ariccia features an espresso bar and unique wine list, and has a private dining room for special events. Located in Ariccia, Piccolo is Auburn's gathering place for specialty cocktails and a large variety of appetizers and desserts. The menu features a variety of small plates perfect for sharing, refreshing cocktails, and piccolo bottles of champagne.
