Loews Hotels President Jack Adler Announces Plans to Retire
New York, NY - October 13, 2011 - Loews Hotels Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Jonathan Tisch today announced that President and Chief Operating Officer Jack Adler will retire from the company early next year.
Adler began his career with Loews Hotels in 1988 as Senior Vice President of Administration and Development and was promoted to a number of executive positions before assuming his current role in 2000.
“Jack has made an enormous contribution over his 23-year career with Loews Hotels. He has defined the distinctive style of hospitality which each of our hotels reflects; every guest is cherished and every employee is valued,” said Tisch. “Jack drove Loews Hotels' expansion, transformed our portfolio of properties in addition to defining and focusing our brand. In both good times and bad, the company's operational performance excelled under Jack's leadership.”
“I am extremely proud of the value that I have been able to create and sustain for Loews Hotels and its partners by developing and acquiring new properties, evolving and enhancing the brand and by delivering excellent operating performance,” said Adler. “When I depart next year, I will leave the company in great condition and look forward to remaining active in the industry in new ways.”
Tisch announced that Loews Hotels will be looking for a President and CEO that has a proven track record in growing a quality brand. Korn Ferry International has been retained to identify candidates. Tisch will remain as Chairman of Loews Hotels and Co-Chairman of the Board of Loews Corporation.
“We are excited about the future of Loews Hotels. Loews Corporation is committed to the hotel business and specifically to expansion as well as investing in our existing properties,” said Tisch. “We are eager to recruit a hospitality industry leader who can shape and implement a strategic vision for the business and who can guide and grow Loews Hotels into the future.”
