Warwick Seattle Hotel Appoints Timothy Bathke as GM
December 7, 2011 - With more than a decade of experience under his belt, Timothy Bathke was recently named gGeneral manager at Warwick Seattle Hotel. In his new role, Bathke will help further establish Warwick Seattle Hotel as the landmark Belltown hotel that is synonymous with service excellence, as well as a superior place to stay in Seattle. Offering magnificent views of the world famous Space Needle and Seattle skyline, Warwick Seattle Hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Belltown, which boasts some of the city's most popular restaurants and live music clubs and is only a few blocks from Pike Place Market and Westlake Center.
“We are in the hospitality industry, not the hotel industry,” Bathke said. “Hospitality will be evident and extend not only to our guests, but also to the community, our associates, our vendors, and anyone else we come in contact with.” Bathke plans to instill this by creating a culture of sincere caring and compassion toward both guests and associates, making Warwick Seattle Hotel a place people want to work, not just a place where people are employed.
“We are pleased to have Tim leading our Warwick Seattle team. His philosophy to lead by example is a tenet which we wholeheartedly believe in and work towards instilling in all of our employees,” said G. Paul LeBlanc, vice president of sales and marketing at Warwick International Hotels. “With his background and skill set, I have no doubt that his approach will be highly effective in continuing the tradition of excellence Warwick Hotels are known for.”
Under Bathke's guidance and direction, Warwick Seattle Hotel will be undergoing Phase II of its renovation project scheduled for completion in December 2011. With five floors completely redesigned with a host of stylish and sophisticated touches in December 2010 and another five this year, Warwick Seattle Hotel will offer a welcoming atmosphere where guests will enjoy personal attention, professional service and a range of fine amenities.
Prior to joining the Warwick Seattle team, Bathke was general manager at a top global franchise in Portland, Oregon, overseeing a property with a restaurant and 16,000 sq ft. of meeting space. During this time, he was also operating an 80 seat off-site Italian restaurant and managing the construction of another property from the ground up for the same company.
From 2000 to 2006, Bathke worked with another international chain of hotels, starting as a housekeeper and guest service representative and finishing his tenure as its area operations manager. As the area operations manager he managed properties in Springfield/Eugene, Oregon and Salem, Oregon, including all of the sales and marketing. Because of his diverse experience Bathke has a philosophy of never asking an employee to do something that he wouldn't personally do, which he will carry throughout his duties at Warwick Seattle Hotel.
