Westin Kierland Resort & Spa Hires New Resort Manager
Scottsdale, AZ - July 23, 2012 - The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa in Scottsdale, Arizona is proud to announce the hiring of Brian Montalbano as Resort Manager. Brian was promoted from a corporate position as Area Director of Revenue Management. He was the ideal candidate for the job with his knowledge of Starwood Hotels & Resorts, the service culture of The Westin Kierland and he brings great determination to work closely with Resort associates to continue to cultivate a successful hotel team. He is also a Six Sigma Greenbelt which will allow him to execute strategies for making all processes and programs as efficient and effective as possible throughout the resort. Brian began his new role June 2012, and reports directly to the resort's Managing Director, J. Bruce Lange.
“Making the transition from a corporate position back to a property is something that I have been looking to do for some time and when I learned of this opportunity, I immediately knew this was the place I wanted to be. My first few weeks on property have exceeded every expectation I had. I knew the Westin Kierland team was friendly, we have a great product and the leadership team sets the bar high, but I don't think you can put into words the “feeling” you get when working here,” Montalbano says.
Brian Montalbano began his Starwood career in 1997, working in a variety of hotels and markets, from suburban Detroit, where was the first Director of Revenue at the Novi Hilton, to Chicago, where he developed the sales/revenue management complex model for the Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers and the Westin Chicago River North. Most recently, Brian served as Area Director of Revenue Management, overseeing 14 hotels/resorts in Arizona, Colorado, Utah and California.
