Largest Full-Service Hotel in New Orleans Area to Open Since Hurricane Katrina

FEBRUARY 28, 2007. Pyramid Hotel Group announced today it will be opening the New Orleans Marriott Metairie at Lakeway in the Spring of 2007. The 220-room property, located at 3838 Causeway Boulevard, will be the first in the Greater New Orleans area to feature the new Marriott guest rooms.

The hotel offers the latest evolution of style and comfort that the Marriott brand has to offer. With 33 suites, a wireless concierge level, 6,500 sq. ft. of flexible meeting space and a new concept restaurant by internationally acclaimed Chef Dominique Macquet, Bistro 38 by Dominique, the hotel is the largest full-service property in Jefferson Parish.

'Jefferson Parish has quickly rebounded over the last year and is an area ripe for growth and development, said Robert 'Tico' Bevier, CHA, Vice President, Managing Director of Pyramid Hotel Group (PHG). 'By launching this hotel in the heart of Metairie's business district, we are addressing a growing segment of business travelers who use Jefferson as their base of operations. Our location near the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway and Interstate 10 makes it easily accessible for corporate guests and meeting attendees, whether flying or driving.'

Specifically designed for the business segment, the hotel's guest rooms feature Marriott's Room that Works(R). The 32-inch plasma screen televisions can interface with both laptop computers and offer a split screen to display both high definition television and a computer screen simultaneously. Additional electrical outlets have been added and a connectivity panel provides versatile multimedia usage such as PDAs, portable DVDs and IPods. New Marriott Bedding(R) features 300-thread-count sheets, additional pillows, plush mattress toppers and freshly laundered duvets.

'The amenities are designed to satisfy the discerning business traveler,' said Bevier. 'And they will be matched with the legendary Marriott service and meeting expertise that makes Marriott a leader in the industry.' Bevier also noted that the food and beverage offerings will fill a void in the area's dining options-servicing hotel guests, the more than 4,000 businesspeople within the Lakeway Center, and the entire Jefferson community. 'Bistro 38 by Dominique will feature classic Country French cuisine in a casual bistro setting and Perks a Starbucks, 'We Proudly Brew' coffee shop will offer Starbucks coffee and tea along with pastries and pannini,' he said.

The Marriott has already begun taking reservations for meetings and it will begin accepting individual guest reservations in mid-April.
