Yaser Mohamad Named Hotel Manager of the National Hotel in Miami Beach, Florida

February 5, 2014 - Yaser Mohamad has been appointed Hotel Manager of the National Hotel, a 1939 oceanfront Art Deco landmark located in Miami Beach, Florida, bringing 20 years of hospitality experience to his new position. As Hotel Manager, he is responsible for overseeing the entire operations of the 152-room hotel.

Mohamad joined the National Hotel in 2006 and has held several positions there including Director of Catering, Director of Food and Beverage and, most recently Director of Operations where he oversaw the hotel's $12 million renovation.

Prior to the National Hotel, he was the Director of Food and Beverage at the Viceroy Miami. There, he helped established and run their food and beverage programs shortly after the hotel opened in 2009. Mohamad also served as Director of Catering at Mayfair House in Coconut Grove, where he was awarded “Wedding Specialist of the Year” in 2005, after executing over 1,000 Weddings in his career. He also worked at other hotels in the Miami area including Hilton Hotels, DoubleTree by Hilton, Grand Bay Hotel Coconut Grove and various hotels in Venezuela.

Mohamad was born in Cuba and moved to Caracas, Venezuela at a young age. He earned his Bachelors Degree in Architecture from the Universidad Central de Venezuela and moved to Miami in 1995 where he earned an Associates Degree in Hospitality Management from Florida International University. He resides in Miami and is fluent in English and Spanish.
