Greater Boston Convention & Visitors Bureau Elects Paul J. Sacco Chairman
BOSTON, MA - January 23, 2015- The Greater Boston Convention & Visitors Bureau (GBCVB) is pleased to announce it has elected Paul J. Sacco for a two year term as the Chairman of the Board of Directors. Mr. Sacco has served on the GBCVB Board since 2010.
Currently President and CEO of the Massachusetts Lodging Association, a statewide trade association representing and promoting the Massachusetts' lodging industry, Mr. Sacco also served as the former Executive Director of the Massachusetts Office of Travel & Tourism. Previously, he served as Chief Executive Officer of the Belvedere Hotels Ltd., Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing and as a Vice President for regional operations for Omni Hotels. He has also managed a number of hotels in his extensive career including Managing Director of the Omni Parker House Downtown Boston, the Shoreham Hotel in Washington, DC and The Netherland Plaza - Cincinnati.
Mr. Sacco also serves on the board of the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority (MCCA), Sail Boston, The Governor's Advisory Commission on Travel & Tourism, Creative Economy Council and Freedom Trail Foundation Board. He has served on the Board of the American Hotel & Lodging Association, Discover New England, the Travel Industry Association of America, Skal International Boston Board and as Chair of the Board of Historic Hotels of America.
