Martineau Bay Resort Names Andrew Niedenthal Executive Chef
APRIL 4, 2007. Martineau Bay Resort and Spa is pleased to announce the hiring of Andrew Niedenthal as executive chef. While in command of the kitchen at Paso Fino, Chef Niedenthal will also be responsible for the resort's banquet services and casual dining venues. Niedenthal comes to Martineau Bay as a gifted culinary professional and most recently as executive chef at the Peter Island Resort in the British Virgin Islands.
Throughout the last 10 years of his professional career, Niedenthal has made several guest appearances on major cable networks such as The Food Network's Best Of, as well as Food Nation with Bobby Flay, ESPN and the CBS Morning Show. Niedenthal has been recognized by the James Beard Foundation, American Culinary Federation, and American Institute of Wine and Food.
In addition to Peter Island, Niedenthal's past positions include executive chef at The Marshall House and executive chef at Pierre's at Morada Bay, a fine dining beachfront restaurant. He was a consulting chef at Bambu in Miami and executive sous chef at Cheeca Lodge Resort where he was promoted to executive chef.
When Niedenthal isn't cooking, he spends time boating and diving in the Caribbean. He enjoys fishing and sharing his catch with his wife and their 3 dogs. Andy is also an enthusiastic wine collector, with over 400 bottles in his cellar.
Located in the Great House, Paso Fino Restaurant offers breakfast and dinner while overlooking the sea. This dining room transforms its look for dinner with a more formal d'ecor. 'A la carte breakfasts and 'a la carte dinners feature selections such as conch bisque, lobster empanadas, coconut prawns, lamb chops, and steak in peppercorn sauce.
