ORLANDO, FL. October 22, 2015 - Bringing with him a proven track record of excellence at other Marriott properties throughout the United States, Michael Wilke has been named the new general manager at Residence Inn Orlando at SeaWorld®, one of the premier extended-stay hotels in Orlando.

Located just minutes from premier attractions, the hotel boasts spacious guest suites with room to live, work, dine and dream. Along with the convenience of free Wi-Fi for 24/7 connectivity, each suite features a fully equipped kitchen area, making the accommodations ideal for extended Florida vacations and business trips.

Wilke has five years of experience with Marriott International and a total of 11 years in the hospitality industry, including his time in the franchise world. He started his hospitality career with Marriott brands while working at Fairfield Inn & Suites in Stillwater, OK, while still attending college at Oklahoma State University. After graduation in 2008, Wilke made the move back to his home state of Texas upon accepting the assistant general manager position at Residence Inn Waco. That same year, Wilke accepted another position at a Fairfield Inn & Suites in Dallas, Texas. In 2010, he was welcomed as the assistant general manager at Courtyard Albuquerque Airport. After a short yet successful stint in Albuquerque, Wilke began his first managed general manager position in 2011 at Courtyard Oklahoma City Airport.

Two years later, Wilke was offered the general manager position at Courtyard Denver Airport. After only a year at the hotel, he was awarded the "Ownership GM Excellence Award" for having the highest gross operating profit (GOP) flow in 2013. The following year, the same hotel was awarded a Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor for maintaining an overall rating of four or higher on a scale of five as ranked by travelers. Wilke completed his service there before accepting his current position in Orlando.

When not leading the hotel near SeaWorld®, Wilke enjoys spending time with his wife of six years, Lindsey, and their Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Winston. In his spare time, he enjoys watching his favorite college football team, the Oklahoma State University Cowboys. Wilke's other hobbies include golfing, snowboarding and fishing.
