Marriott's Fairfield Brand Names Jeff Shockley, GM of the Year
GM of the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott-Buckhead
ATLANTA, GA, April 11, 2007. Marriott International recently named Jeff Shockley of Atlanta the General Manager of the Year for its Fairfield Inn and Fairfield Inn & Suites brand of hotels. Selected from among more than 500 general managers throughout the United States, Mr. Shockley serves as General Manager of the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott-Buckhead, a hotel managed by Atlanta-based Hotel Equities. Mr. Shockley earned his first national title in 1998 when he managed Hotel Equities' Fairfield Inn by Marriott-Perimeter Center.
An associate with Hotel Equities for more than 13 years, Mr. Shockley has managed the Buckhead property for two years. He also serves a Financial Analyst for Hotel Equities' management portfolio of 16 hotels. Moody National Companies owns the Fairfield Inn & Suites-Buckhead hotel.

Beginning his career at the Courtyard by Marriott in Athens, Georgia, Shockley joined HE in 1995 as the Assistant General Manager at the Fairfield Inn-Alpharetta. The next year the company tapped him to open the Fairfield Inn-Kennesaw during the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. Marriott rewarded his success by naming him the Fairfield Inn GM of the Year 1996. Shockley used his exemplary training and mentoring skills along with his affinity for the financial side of the business to add leadership responsibilities and continue to grow with the company. He helped develop and open the Fairfield Inn-Perimeter Center in 1997.
Mr. Shockley and his wife Julie live in Dunwoody with their two small children. He is an avid golfer and enjoys working with Habitat for Humanity in his spare time.
