The Vail Spa completes $10 million renovation
The Vail Spa Condominiums Homeowners Association, which is managed by East West Destination Hospitality, has completed the $10 million renovation project that it launched last spring.
Vail's KH Webb Architects oversaw the design and RA Nelson handled the execution of the Vail Spa renovation, which was completed in just over seven months. Koll Consulting of Glenwood Springs helped to manage the project as the Owner's Representative.
Owners at the Vail Spa Condominiums, which originally opened in 1980, recognized the need for major refurbishment and funded the $10 million in upgrades, which included a full exterior remodel with copper, stucco and wood accents and the installation of new exterior pavers and snowmelt system. On the interior, the building has new finishes to its upper and lower lobbies and refurbished elevator cars with upgraded digital equipment. The Lionshead property also completely renovated its locker, spa and fitness areas, with new tile and finishes to the indoor and outdoor pool and hot tub areas, plus upgraded lighting and automated pool covers.
To help make the building more environmentally friendly, new energy efficient and noise reducing windows and doors were installed in all 56 of the Vail Spa residences, and a rooftop solar heating mechanical system was installed for the pools, hot tubs and locker rooms.
