ORLANDO, FL, September 20, 2006. Patricia Clifton, chief concierge and guest relations manager of the AAA Four-Diamond Westin Grand Bohemian in downtown Orlando, has been appointed as a member of Les Clefs d'Or, the worldwide organization of hotel concierges.

One of the most recognizable faces in Central Florida's hotel industry, Patricia's induction marks her as one of only two concierges in Orlando's world-renowned hospitality and tourism market to currently hold this recognition.

"As a premier tourism destination to the world, Orlando is charged with upholding the gold standard of guest service," said Roger Ploum, general manager of The Westin Grand Bohemian. "Patricia exemplifies this philosophy in everything that she does, For her to have been accepted as a member of Les Clefs d'Or is a testament to her hard work, dedication and unprecedented level of expertise."

Patricia began in the hospitality industry just a few short years ago as an opening team member of The Westin Grand Bohemian, but has had a significant impact in that time. In addition to her duties as Lead Concierge and Guest Services Manager the hotel, she is also immediate past president of the Central Florida Concierge Association (CFCA). Patricia has also been recognized as the CFCA's Concierge of the Year in 2001, and The Westin Grand Bohemian's Employee of the Year in 2002.

Founded in Paris in 1952, the domestic chapter of Les Clefs d'Or was introduced in 1978. Today, the organization represents approximately 3,000 professional concierges at four and five-star destinations around the world, with just 450 members in the United States. Concierges who achieve this level of accreditation exemplify the highest echelons of service and industry knowledge, and are identified by the golden crossed keys on their lapels.

This is the symbol for Les Clefs d'Or, which literally means "the gold keys," and dates back to the Middle Ages when a concierge would be those who held keys to noted government buildings and castles.

Patricia Clifton joins Patricia Coffey of Casa Monica Hotel as the second concierge within The Kessler Collection to currently hold this prestigious title.
