Shyam Lalu Named General Manager at The Statler in Downtown Dallas
Shyam Lalu has been named General Manager of The Statler, a Curio Collection by Hilton hotel managed by Aimbridge Hospitality, the leading global third-party hotel operator. The Statler, in downtown Dallas, was built in 1956 and is recognized on the Historic Hotels of America registry.
Lalu has spent 24 years serving in various roles in the hotel industry, most recently as the General Manager of the Hyatt Regency Los Angeles International Airport. He has worked in management roles in several hotels' food and beverage operations, which will serve him well at The Statler, home to four dine-and-drink venues.
At The Statler, Lalu will be responsible for daily operations at the hotel, capital projects, budget preparation, team member relations and guest experience. He will oversee a team of more than 150, including staff at Overeasy, Scout, Bourbon & Banter and Waterproof.
Lalu has worked his way up since beginning his career as a hotel desk clerk in 2001, progressing through roles such as Food and Beverage Director and Director of Operations before being named General Manager. He has worked in a mix of city, resort/destination and wellness markets, from Sedona to Hollywood to Maui, driving success by creating unique and memorable experiences for guests as well as a warm and friendly environment for employees.
