St. Louis Airport Marriott Opening Conference Center Space
Listening to customers drives $1.1 million redesign of new conference venue
ST. LOUIS, MO, Ocotober 23, 2008. The St. Louis Airport Marriott is completing the transformation of 7,000 square feet of former restaurant and lounge space into a new style of highly flexible conference venue that offers advanced business meeting technology and a penthouse-like atmosphere.
Located on the third and ninth floors of the West Tower, the modern space consists of seven meeting rooms, two large conference rooms and two executive boardrooms designed with the versatility to allow businesses to utilize the entire floor and combine it with up to ten breakout spaces. Changing business needs and trends in the conference industry provided the impetus for the $1.1 million renovation.
The two largest meeting rooms and the two boardrooms on the ninth floor will be completed in October 2008. The remaining boardrooms and breakout rooms on the third floor will be ready in January 2009.
Hotel management also took its cues from its guests and event planners looking for special amenities, state-of-the-art audiovisual technology, all inclusive food and beverage selections and comfortable ergonomic furnishings. New package pricing means planners can depend on fixed, per-person costs, while knowing that other optional services are available if needed. The mission of this venue is to be the most productive, comfortable meeting environment possible.
"The St. Louis Airport Marriott is featuring a newly conceived conference venue within the 601 room hotel," said Leo Chandler, general manager of the hotel. "This venue within a venue contains state-of-the-art display technology, audio-video conferencing capabilities, plug and play meeting room connectivity panels, high speed wireless, hard wall construction and a dedicated conference concierge. Food and beverage offerings will include creatively displayed all-day breaks, continually refreshed, continental breakfasts, buffet lunches, and a wide selection of beverages in an all inclusive day meeting package. The conference venue at the St. Louis Marriott provides a contemporary, tech-friendly, productive meeting environment with easy to budget package pricing," said Chandler.
While the rooms fill with natural light during the day, the lighting options include shear or blackout shades to adjust light levels. And the hard wall construction provides good sound resolution for uninterrupted gatherings.
As a service enhancement, Marriott assigns a dedicated conference concierge to each group. The concierge is trained on the key deliverables for each meeting and is accessible at all times via a direct line phone to provide assistance with business services and the available technology. In addition, audio/video conferencing capabilities are available in all meeting rooms.
Conference attendees will enjoy the privacy of the conference center environment, while having access to all of the hotels amenities. The hotel features a Grand Pavilion, a Starbucks outlet, and the Rock River Grill and Tavern. Guests looking for a good workout may choose from our Pinnacle Fitness Center or one of two pools, one of which is indoor/outdoor. Add to all of this the complimentary shuttle service to and from Lambert International Airport as well as close proximity to downtown, and anyone would agree you have the "complete package."
