Douglas Fir Resort Completes Eco-friendly Renovations
Environmentally conscious upgrades offer an improved guest experience.
BANFF, Canada, January 22, 2009 - The Douglas Fir Resort & Chalets experience just got a little more friendly. Eco-friendly that is, with new improvements made to their popular indoor waterslides. As a result of installing a new higher efficiency boiler system, energy consumption is now reduced by an average of 15% on over 100,000 litres of water and water temperatures can be more consistently maintained.
"It is necessary for us to do our part for the environment, while at the same time providing a better experience for our guests." says General Manager, Andre Fabbri, about the new energy efficient system.
Other improvements to the waterslide park include new marble countertops and slide resurfacing. Completed in December 2008, a total of more than $50,000 in renovations were done.
The water slide park features 2 three-story waterslides, steam room, 24-person Jacuzzi and kiddies pool. Access to the waterslides is free for registered guests of the Douglas Fir Resort & Chalets. General admission applies to guests six years and older ($20) and children five years and younger are free when accompanied by a paying adult.
