Tom Sommer Joins HREC as VP

JANUARY 27, 2009 - HREC Investment Advisors, the nation's leading hotel real estate advisory firm, is pleased to announce that Tom Sommer has joined the firm's Chicago, Illinois office as Vice President.
Tom Sommer's 18-year career in the hotel industry has included a wide range of experience in various facets of the business. His background extends from hotel franchise sales including market and site selection; hotel acquisition and ownership; to asset and property management. Tom began his hospitality career in 1990 with Days Inns of America selling franchises in the Northern California market. He later moved to Chicago and worked as Director of Franchise Sales for such brands as Ramada, Super 8, Microtel Inn & Suites and Sleep Inn. Tom has also owned and managed two limited-service hotels in the Midwest. Most recently Tom served as Vice President with Mumford Company in the Chicago office where for three years he focused on investment sale brokerage for mid-scale and economy hotels throughout the United States. Tom is a graduate of the University of Missouri with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.
