FEBRUARY 11, 2009 - Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, the premier manager of ultra luxury hotels and resorts throughout the world, is pleased to announce a multi million dollar expansion of Al Faisaliah Hotel, A Rosewood Hotel, located in downtown Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The hotel has also appointed Simon Probst as the new Chef De Cuisine for The Globe, the iconic restaurant that overlooks Riyadh with panoramic views from atop Al Faisaliah Tower. Having just been acclaimed as Saudi Arabia's Leading Business Hotel and Saudi Arabia's Leading Hotel for the fourth year in a row at the World Travel Awards, these changes will make the #1 property in Saudi Arabia even better. The renovation is scheduled to be completed by late 2009.

The new wing of Al Faisaliah Hotel will increase the room count from 224 rooms and suites to 330 units. The additional units will range from 700 square foot entry level suites to the 5,380 square foot duplex flagship Royal Penthouse suite. A separate reception area and a brand new Italian/Mediterranean dining restaurant featuring an open kitchen will be added to the hotel as well as an ultra luxury 9,700 square foot ladies-only spa with more than 12 treatment rooms which will complement the hotel's existing spa for men. This spa will be the first ultra-luxury spa created exclusively for women in Saudi Arabia.

"We are proud to have earned the World Travel Awards' highest honors, and are certain that this renovation will ensure our continued success," commented Wolfgang O. Pachler, Managing Director of Al Faisaliah Hotel, A Rosewood Hotel. "The interior design of the new suites will combine the best of both traditional and international contemporary design as well as the latest state of the art technology available on the market today."

Al Faisaliah Hotel also earned two accolades in last year's World Travel Awards when it was named Saudi Arabia's Leading Hotel & Leading Suite, and Saudi Arabia's Leading Hotel for a third consecutive year. The hotel, which sits amid the exclusive shops, residences and businesses of Riyadh's Al Faisaliah Centre, has scooped a clutch of other prizes in recent years.

The hotel has become particularly renowned for its spectacular dome restaurant, The Globe, which provides dramatic views across Riyadh. Chef Probst, who has more than a decade of experience in Michelin-starred restaurants across Europe, will oversee the culinary direction for this acclaimed restaurant. Encapsulated in a golden dome 240 metres above Riyadh, Chef Probst takes the helm of one of the world's most distinguished restaurants and dining experiences.
