Andrew Kuster New Exec Banquet Chef at Lancaster Marriot
Lancaster County Convention Center and Lancaster Marriott at Penn Square
APRIL 21, 2009 - The new Lancaster County Convention Center and Lancaster Marriott at Penn Square recently named Andrew Kuster as the executive banquet chef. Kuster is responsible for overseeing menu development and food preparation for banquets and other catered events involving large groups at the convention center and hotel. The integrated facility has a combined 90,000 square feet of meeting space, scheduled to open in Spring 2009. Kuster currently resides in Lancaster, Pa. With more than a decade of experience in the food service industry, Kuster most recently worked as the executive banquet chef at Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, Pa., where he was in charge of menu production, recipes and supervised more than 100 full-time and part-time employees. Kuster is a trained sushi chef as well as an avid ice carver. He has successfully planned and executed dinners for up to 2,500 people. Kuster also previously held the position of production manager/head chef at Thaddeus College in Lancaster, Pa., Kuster attended the Quartermaster School for Foodservice in Ft. Lee, Va., where he graduated first in his class and became a food service specialist.

With its new construction incorporating the iconic 19th Century Beaux Arts facade of the former Watt & Shand department store, the integrated convention center and hotel are centrally located to northeast metropolitan cities and anchor Lancaster's Penn Square at the heart of all the charm, history and vibrant energy of the downtown area.
The convention center is being built by the public-sector Lancaster County Convention Center Authority. The hotel is being developed by the private-sector Penn Square Partners on a site owned by the public Redevelopment Authority of the City of Lancaster.
