Jon McGuan Named GM Atlantic Hotel, Fort Lauderdale

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL, April 29, 2009 - Jon McGaunn has been named general manager of The Atlantic Hotel, a AAA Four Diamond boutique property overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. A 20-year veteran of the hospitality industry, McGaunn is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the 16-story hotel which offers 124 rooms, including 54 suites, Spa Atlantic and award-winning dining at Trina.

McGaunn began his career with the Omni Mandalay Hotel in Dallas, Tex. In 1998, he joined The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company where he specialized in hotel launches. McGaunn served as area director of rooms for Ritz-Carlton Boston and Ritz-Carlton Boston Common from 2000-2002 before being tapped as executive assistant manager - rooms division for The Ritz-Carlton, Palm Beach, a Five Star-Five Diamond property. Most recently, McGaunn worked with PGW based in West Palm Beach, Fla., as president of its hospitality and entertainment group before being promoted to managing director of PRE Group, the company's real estate division. In this position, he scouted, evaluated and introduced new sites for potential luxury developments.
