The Food and Beverage Association of America Honors Four Industry Leaders at Benefit Dinner Dance

NEW YORK, NY, May 4, 2009 - The Food and Beverage Association of America will honor four of the industry's best at the upcoming Second Annual Gala Dinner Dance to benefit the Food and Beverage Scholarship Foundation. The black-tie event will be held on Friday, May 29, 2009 at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, New York City. A reception will begin at 7:00 pm with the dinner and award ceremony to follow.

Designated the 2009 Hospitality Professional of the Year is Joseph E. Spinnato, President and Chief Executive Officer, Hotel Association of New York City. In his role, Spinnato leads the association in representing more than 230 hotels employing more than 30,000 people while maintaining a hand in a variety of humanitarian interests.

The 2009 Industry Professionals of the Year are Fred and Leslie Klashman, Co-Publishers, Total Food Service, roles they have carried out successfully for almost two decades.

The 2009 Purveyor of the Year is Wayne Frocke, Executive Sales Specialist, Ecolab Institutional Division. With Ecolab since 1963, Frocke has achieved many accolades as a distinguished salesperson in the various geographic regions he has worked for the company.

Recession-sensitive ticket pricing is set at $200 per person for members and one guest. Non-members and guests may attend for $250 per person. The event begins with a reception at 7:00 pm. The Food and Beverage Association of America was established in 1956. It is a not-for-profit professional organization composed primarily of Hospitality Industry Executives from the New York Metropolitan region. Its purpose is to promote and encourage the adoption and application of improved standards and methods and the interchange of information in the Food and Beverage Industry.
