Cond'e Nast Johansens Luxury Hotel Guide Announces 2006 Awards for Excellence Nominations

Winners to be Announced at Gala Ceremony in New York on January 11

SAN FRANCISCO, CA, December 19, 2005. Cond'e Nast Johansens, the international luxury travel guide of premium resorts, hotels, and spas from the "most trusted name in travel," Cond'e Nast Publications Ltd., today announced the nominations for the 2006 Americas Awards for Excellence. The winners of the prestigious awards will be revealed at the publication's annual awards gala on January 11. Formerly presented in London, this year's ceremony will be held for the first time in New York City. The event brings together the finest hoteliers from the United States, Mexico, Central and South America, and the Atlantic, Caribbean and Pacific Islands.

Awards will be presented in 18 categories, including Most Excellent Hotel, Most Excellent Resort, and Most Excellent Spa Hotel. This year's nominations also feature new categories created specifically to celebrate the ever-growing diversity of the Guide's offerings, such as Most Excellent Eco Resort, Central & South America; Most Excellent Ranch, USA; and Most Excellent Romantic Hideaway, Atlantic, Caribbean and Pacific Islands. The nominations have been selected from the 285 properties featured in the 2006 Recommended Hotels, Inns, Resorts & Spa - The Americas, Atlantic, Caribbean, Pacific by the Cond'e Nast Johansens team of inspectors, readers, and hotel guests. Guests made their suggestions online at www.johansens.com or by completing one of the Award for Excellence cards available at all Cond'e Nast Johansens Recommended accommodations.
