Chef Dufour Joins the Elite Club of Only 231 Chefs Worldwide with Same Honor

Thierry Dufour, Executive Chef of Marquis Los Cabos Beach, Golf, Spa and Casitas Resort in Los Cabos, Mexico, was named Master Chef of France for his lifelong practice and promotion of French cuisine. The Master Chef of France title was presented by Mr. Michel Blanchet, President of The Maitre Cuisinier de France. Only 231 chefs worldwide share the distinction and Chef Dufour now joins this elite club.
Established in 1951 under the name Ma^itres-Queux, the Association of the Master Chefs of France promotes professional excellence by spreading the French culinary art. Master Chefs also encourage training in cuisine and assist in professional development. The Association promotes numerous national and international cooking competitions. Master Chefs of France are given the highest classification in restaurant guides.
With a Michelin two star restaurant pedigree, Chef Dufour is the executive chef for all property restaurants, including Canto del Mar, the elegant restaurant specializing in French cuisine. Chef Dufour personally prepares his specially created dishes each night for a limited 30 guests. These privileged guests do not have access to printed menus as the menu changes every four days. Instead, they are able to choose dishes for each course that are suited to their individual preferences. Local fish and vegetables from local grocers are highlighted in the menu. In addition to being named Master Chef of France, Chef Dufour is a five star diamond award winner by the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences.
