Minneapolis Marriott Undergoing $18+ mil Renovation
MINNEAPOLIS, MN, MArch 29, 2006. The Minneapolis Marriott City Center is going to look like a million bucks- 18.5 million bucks, that is- following a comprehensive renovation for that amount of its ballroom, meeting rooms and guestrooms.
About $13.5 million is designated to revamp all 583 guestrooms with new light fixtures, carpeting, furniture, draperies, 300-thread-count bedding and granite vanities in the bathrooms.
The rooms will be completed in early 2007.
A new policy also comes with the redone guest rooms: the hotel will change duvet covers on the beds after each guest checks out, according to Tom Chase, the Marriott's general manager.
The hotel also is in the midst of a $2.5 million ballroom renovation that will incorporate new ceilings, chandeliers and wall coverings and a new sound system. That project will be completed by April 21.
