. October 14, 2008

PHOENIX, AZ, April 13, 2006. The 242-room Doubletree Suites-Gateway Center Hotel in Phoenix was honored with two top awards for its superior service, guest relations and community outreach.

The local Doubletree Suites Hotel was saluted for its outstanding efforts from among the brand's 160 hotels across North America.

"We are absolutely thrilled about the honor of being selected for the best of the best," said Todd D. Wilson, general manager of the Phoenix property. "This is a tremendous testament to the entire staff whose extraordinary commitment to each guests' experience as well as the local community is reflected in these top awards."

The awards -- presented during the national Doubletree general managers conference held in March in Roanoke, VA -- mark the fifth Pride honor for the hotel in the past five years. This distinction is given to the top ten Doubletree Hotels nationwide based on brand consistency (physical condition, cleanliness and brand standards), as well as overall guest satisfaction and loyalty.

In addition to the Pride Award, the hotel also snagged the prestigious Doubletree 2005 CARE Cup.

According to Dave Horton, senior vice president, brand management for Doubletree, which is part of the Hilton Hotels holdings, the Doubletree Guest Suites Phoenix-Gateway Center is being honored for its "outstanding achievement in activities contributing to guest relations, team members and community involvement. "

In particular, the hotel was recognized for its partnership with Balsz Elementary School, which includes staff mentoring and reading programs, a generous donation of school supplies and the planting of numerous new trees on the educational campus at 4309 E. Belleview in Phoenix.

"We are extremely proud of this school partnership, which is very rewarding and beneficial to our staff members and the students alike," said Wilson.

The Doubletree Suites-Gateway Center Hotel completed a $ 3 million renovation last year that included a major makeover of the entrance and lobby areas, in addition to the expansion and remodeling of meeting and conference rooms.

Owned and operated by Stanford Hotels Corp., the Phoenix property is among the most successful hotels in the Stanford Hotels portfolio based on occupancy and revenue benchmarks.

"Over the years Stanford Hotels has owned the Phoenix Doubletree -Gateway Center, we have been proud of its performance and grown increasingly impressed with the guest relations and community outreach efforts," said Clyde Guinn, senior vice president of operations for Stanford Hotels. "As such, Stanford has committed significant economic resources to provide more accommodations for our customers, greater opportunities for our employees and additional jobs in the community."
