Mike Monchino, Receives America's Best Inns 'President's Award'

ATLANTA, GA, August 21, 2006. Michael W. Monchino, principal member of Herrin, Illinois-based Monchino Management, LLC - owner and manager of the America's Best Inns & Suites hotels in Lafayette and Lake Charles, LA, and Montgomery, AL - has received the brand's "President's Award" for 2006.

The honor is presented annually to the owner/operator who best represents the America's Best Inns & Suites brand.

"Monchino Management operates three of our best performing properties," said Doug Collins, President and CEO of Atlanta-based America's Best Franchising, Inc., which owns and operates the America's Best Inns & Suites lodging system. "Mike and his team have always been committed to maintaining excellent customer service and providing our guests with the best possible lodging experience. They continue to achieve outstanding results."

Monchino - a 25-year veteran of the hospitality industry who has been involved with the America's Best brand since it began in the 1980's - commented, "The key to our success is our people, from the hourly staff to senior management. We haven't changed the philosophy of what the brand was founded on... taking care of guests, treating employees well and empowering them to make decisions, and doing everything we can to drive revenue."

Over the years, Monchino has managed hotels of up to 350-plus rooms and has participated in the construction and opening of more than 75 new hotels throughout the U.S. In addition, he has had ownership in many hotel properties, and currently owns nine. A longtime resident of Herrin, he holds a BA degree in administration and MBA in management.

Monchino Management, LLC currently owns and operates the following America's Best hotels:

-- The Lafayette, LA America's Best Suites, with 97 suites, located at 125 East Kaliste Saloom Rd., off I-10 at exit 103A, and the Lake Charles, LA America's Best Suites, with 111 suites, located at 401 Lakeshore Dr., also off I-10 at exit 29. Both hotels offer all-suites accommodations with microwave, mini-refrigerator, cable/satellite TV and DVD/VCR. In addition to complimentary hot breakfast buffet, evening reception, and free local phone calls, guests enjoy an indoor pool, fitness center, business center, and convenience store.

-- The Montgomery, AL Best Inn, with 74 rooms, located at 5135 Carmichael Rd., off I-85 at exit 6. Accommodations feature a microwave, mini-refrigerator and cable/satellite TV, and the hotel offers an indoor pool and fitness center. Guests also enjoy complimentary breakfast buffet, evening coffee, and free local phone calls.
