Reggie Aggarwal Named Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year
Award Recognizes Entrepreneurial Excellence in IT Services Category
MCLEAN, VA, June 24, 2009 - Cvent, the leading provider of online event management software, event sourcing (eRFP) and web survey solutions, today announced that Reggie Aggarwal, Cvent Founder and CEO received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year(R) 2009 Award in the Greater Washington area. According to Ernst & Young LLP, the award recognizes outstanding entrepreneurs who are building and leading dynamic, growing businesses. Reggie was selected by an independent panel of judges, and the award was presented at a gala event at the Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner on June 18th 2009.
"Ten years ago, Cvent was just a local start-up. Now, Cvent is a global company with over 475 employees that provides online event management, venue sourcing tools and web survey solutions to 14,000 clients in over 20 countries," said Reggie Aggarwal, Cvent CEO and founder. "It has been an extremely rewarding experience to work with the Cvent team to build this company into an industry leading technology provider and to streamline the processes for thousands of organizations with our products and innovations. I'm honored and humbled to be this year's Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year for Greater Washington. But this honor was actually earned by the incredible team at Cvent. If it wasn't for them, Cvent would still just be a start-up." Reggie joins a prestigious group of past winners from the Greater Washington area, including Tim Donahue, CEO of Nextel Communications, Steve Case, CEO of AOL, and Richard Fairbanks, CEO of Capital One Financial.
The Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year awards celebrate their 23rd anniversary this year. The program honors entrepreneurs who have demonstrated exceptionality in such areas as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities.
"We are proud to recognize the achievements of Reggie Aggarwal," said Rene Salas, Ernst & Young LLP Entrepreneur Of The Year Program Director for Greater Washington. "Winners of the Entrepreneur Of The Year award build leading businesses and contribute significantly to the strength of our region's economy. Their success helps our area grow stronger."
As a Greater Washington award winner, Reggie is now eligible for consideration for the Ernst & Young LLP Entrepreneur Of The Year 2009 national program. Award winners in several national categories, as well as the overall national Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year award winner, will be announced at the annual awards gala in Palm Springs, California on November 14, 2009.
