Holiday Inn Barrie Hotel Unveils Renovation
February 11, 2010 - Holiday Inn Barrie Hotel & Conference Centre announced today the culmination of a multi-million hotel renovation project. The investment is part of a $1 billion brand-wide global revitalization effort to showcase a more contemporary look and feel that will eventually feature new corporate branding and signage. The full renovation which began in October 2009 included remodeling the lobby and front entrance, guestrooms, and a fresh new look and feel to the restaurant and lounge area.
“We are excited to showcase an entirely new guest experience through this comprehensive and exciting renovation,” said Donald Buckle, general manager for the Holiday Inn Barrie Hotel & Conference Centre. “This renovation was focused on adding more contemporary furniture, revamping the lobby space to be more welcoming, a new inviting dining room/lounge and upgrading 108 of our guest rooms.”
A full renovation to the lobby includes new giant-size floor tiles, upgraded wall vinyl, custom artwork and stylish new furniture in warm earthy tones that compliment an intricate stone wall leading up to the hotel's main staircase. “Custom lighting fixtures and redesigned accent lighting help create a distinct ambience that reinforces our commitment to a perfect and welcoming guest experience,” said Buckle. “The stylish decor can be seen throughout the hotel and it encourages guests to sit back, relax and be themselves.”
The Holiday Inn Barrie Hotel & Conference Centre's distinctive new guest room experience reflects its guests' preferences for a flexible design. Each room features brand new 32” flat screen TV's, comfortable new sofa beds and chairs. Guest rooms also feature crisp new white linens and choice of soft or firm signature pillows to suit any specific sleeping need. All guest washrooms received a face-lift of their own with a fresh coat of paint, designer wallpaper and distinctive ceramic tiles. In addition, new curved curtain rods with brand new cloth shower curtains, new sinks and vanities, upgraded bath towels and Bath and Body Works® amenities all combine to stimulate the senses and create a relaxing spa-like atmosphere.
Tattinger's, the hotel's acclaimed restaurant and lounge received a complete floor-to-ceiling make-over during renovations with new carpet, wall vinyl, modern light fixtures and new furniture to create a more inviting dining experience. The bar area has been repositioned along with the buffet and private dining area for improved functionality and design appeal. A tantalizing new menu has been introduced to enhance guests' experience for luncheons, private dinners, casual social gatherings and family dinners. Tattinger's will be featuring a seniors early bird dinner special commencing February 15th, 2010 every Monday - Thursday from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. that includes a complimentary appetizer when purchasing a main entree. The lounge area is perfect for entertaining after work or to unwind with a cool beverage or cocktail and watch a game on the new big screen TV.
