Andaz West Hollywood Names Melvin Guerrieri DoSM
WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA - (February 11, 2010) - Andaz West Hollywood, the sleek reinvention of the former Hyatt on Sunset Strip, has named Melvin Guerrieri its new director of sales and marketing.
In his new position, Guerrieri will direct sales and marketing programs - including advertising, online outreach and sales strategies - for Andaz WeHo, the first North American addition to Hyatt's new collection of luxury boutique hotels.
“Melvin has an impressive background in rebranding and relaunching Hyatt properties, and his experience will be key as we continue to reposition our property and market the Andaz brand,” said Michel Morauw, general manager of Andaz WeHo, a 14-story, 238-room property that opened in January of 2009. “We are very pleased to have him join our team.”
Guerrieri was most recently the associate director of sales for the 429-room Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa & Marina in San Diego, where he helped rebrand the property following a $65 million renovation.
Prior to that, he was a senior sales manager for the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza, a 726-room property in Los Angeles, assisting in repositioning the property following its conversion from the Westin to the Hyatt brand. He was also a sales manager with Park Hyatt San Francisco (now Le Meridien).
A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Guerrieri received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management from Mercyhurst College.
