January 25, 2011 - The Westin Oaks Houston has just completed a multi- million dollar renovation of the lobby, guest rooms and meeting space of the 406-room property located within The Galleria shopping complex. The transformation at The Westin Oaks Houston offers a distinctive, upscale retreat with our new lobby and lobby bar designed to offer a well balanced feel of restfulness and inspiration.

The Westin Oaks Houston has been an icon in Houston where families, business travelers, local special events/galas and group conventions have been gathering for years and will continue for years to come,” said Pete Korsos, general manager of The Westin Galleria & Westin Oaks Houston. “Our newly transformed hotel will continue to energize and thrive in the heart of Houston and provide guests with the Westin brand's signature offerings and sensory-rich environment, designed to send guests home feeling better than when they arrived.”

The new Westin Oaks lobby will delight the senses upon entry into the hotel. The soothing Westin Welcome blends sensory elements such as the signature White Tea scent, music, botanicals and mood lighting to create a memorable first impression and set the tone for a relaxing stay. Comfortable, social seating, soft ambient lighting and custom commissioned artwork transform the lobby into an inviting place to relax and unwind. The focal point of the lobby is an eye-catching suspended, recycled metal sculpture. Reminiscent of a light falling rain, the sculpture appears to float in mid-air as the suspension is concealed from view. This moving artwork will become the signature element at The Westin Oaks.

The hotel's new lobby bar offers a relaxing and comfortable setting where guests can enjoy unwind and replenish with a light snack or refreshing evening meal and stylish libations to quench their thirst. In the mornings, enjoy a latte or Americano freshly brewed by Starbuck's.

The meeting space was a priority during the hotel's transformation. All of the hotel's 23,000 square feet of meeting space has been completely renovated with a fresh Westin look and feel including new furniture, artwork, carpeting and lighting. Twelve meeting rooms can accommodate from 10 to 1,000 people and provide the perfect setting for any type of meeting or special event.

The hotel's 406 spacious and luxurious guestrooms include eleven executive king guestrooms and three luxury suites offering up to 1,800 square feet. Guest rooms cater to travelers in signature Westin style, offering updated technology, flat-screen televisions and a well-designed work area. The Westin Heavenly Bed® ensures visitors enjoy a good night's sleep, while the Heavenly Bath® and other signature Westin brand amenities thoroughly restore mind and body.
