Denver, CO - September 15, 2011 - Stonebridge Companies, the progressive Denver-based hotel development and management company, broke ground on the second phase of its newest development, CitySet, on September 14 in Glendale, Colorado. Located in the core of the Denver metropolitan area, Glendale is the gateway to the vibrant and upscale Cherry Creek neighborhood. CitySet will represent the cornerstone of the proposed entertainment district known as the Glendale River Walk Development Project -- a multi-year phased project -- and will offer 25,000 square feet of high-end retail and restaurant space and a new hotel. Stonebridge Companies plans to unveil the second phase of CitySet in the fourth quarter of 2012.
"CitySet is an ideal development for Stonebridge Companies in both size and concept, and we're privileged to be a part of the revitalization of Glendale with this project," says Navin Dimond, Stonebridge Companies president and chief executive officer. "This project aligns perfectly with our ideals at Stonebridge -- to employ solid strategic planning as a foundation, and to strive for growth and excellence in all that we do. We're proud to introduce CitySet in this community."
As part of the CitySet development, Stonebridge Companies will build a new 135-suite Residence Inn by Marriott to complement its existing property at the site: the Hilton Garden Inn Denver/Cherry Creek. Stonebridge restored and rebranded the 210-room Hilton Garden Inn in 2009 as the first phase of the CitySet development. Both brands represent the high-end accommodations that sophisticated travelers have come to demand. Between the two hotels, the new mixed-use space will feature dining establishments, shopping, and entertainment venues. This enclave in the city is adjacent to the Cherry Creek Mall, just four miles from downtown Denver, and ten miles from the Colorado Convention Center.
The proposed Glendale River Walk Project completion is a culmination of the vision set forth by city planners and citizens for this community in 1991, to create an ambiance for shopping, dining, entertainment and overnight lodging in Glendale. The new entertainment district is a modern, planned, multi-million dollar development located south of East Virginia Avenue from Colorado Boulevard to South Cherry Street, beside Cherry Creek.
Glendale Mayor Larry Harte and Navin Dimond of Stonebridge Companies officiated at the ground-breaking ceremony, with other city representatives and members of the Stonebridge Companies management team in attendance.
