400-room Dallas Marriott City Center Unveils Complete Makeover
DALLAS, TX - February 10, 2012 - The top-to-bottom makeover of the Dallas Marriott City Center, including a new restaurant, upgraded guest rooms and a state-of-the-art fitness facility overlooking downtown Dallas, is complete.
The year-long project also includes a renovated lobby area and the addition of the largest concierge lounge in the Marriott system.
“If this were a TV show, it would have been called Extreme Hotel Makeover,” said Terri Dolan, regional vice president for the Marriott's Western Region. “The difference is dramatic. Our guests will now enjoy all that is synonymous with the Marriott brand while staying in one of the nation's premier and emerging arts districts.”
The Marriott Dallas City Center offers more than 400 rooms, 25,000 SF of meeting space along with a spectacular 15-story atrium that opens to a dining and retail complex, complete with an indoor ice-skating arena. It had been a Westin property since 2003 until Marriott took over management of the property in late 2010.
One of the most exciting additions is the opening of Centric, a new restaurant featuring seasonal American cuisine with many of the menu items sourced from local producers.
“The landscape of food and beverage moved to a simpler, less fussy style of cooking,” said Dolan. “Straightforward, local dishes made with the freshest ingredients sourced from local producers is taking hold as the prevalent culinary movement in America and Centric will be a the forefront of that movement.”
Located on the edge of the nation's largest urban arts district at 650 North Pearl Street Dallas, the AAA-4-Diamond Dallas Marriott City Center is within walking distance of dozens of arts, shopping, dining, entertainment and business destinations. It's also adjacent to the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) light rail system, just eight blocks from the Dallas Convention Center, 30 minutes from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport and 15 minutes from Dallas Love Field.
The hotel also offers 20,000 square feet of meeting space, including:
-
Twelve meeting rooms - all with high-speed Internet access
-
Plaza Ballroom - with more than 8,000 square feet of classic and elegant reception space
- Normandy Room - an intimate and sophisticated setting for dinners of up to 120 guests
- Atrium - a soaring 15-story space that can host up to 2,000 reception guests
