Gilchrist & Soames Moves Worldwide Headquarters
Company Anticipates Building Workforce to Meet Sales Growth Projections
August 1, 2012 - Gilchrist & Soames, a leading luxury hotel amenities company servicing the world's finest properties around the globe, has moved its worldwide headquarters from downtown Indianapolis to nearby Plainfield, Ind., to accommodate its thriving business. With significant growth projected for 2012 and beyond, the company is poised to hire an additional 40 full-time employees within the next six months to keep up with demand.
“By offering the hospitality industry the very best products and service, Gilchrist & Soames has established itself as a premier luxury company domestically and internationally,” said Kathie DeVoe, CEO of Gilchrist & Soames. “Our team has a passion for pursuing excellence, and their commitment is evident in the tremendous growth and opportunities we are experiencing.”
Gilchrist & Soames' new Plainfield facilities span 250,000-square-feet, compared to 145,000-square-feet in its original location. The expanded manufacturing and distribution space will allow for increased capacity and operational capabilities and the global headquarters building will enhance collaboration and coordination among employees through a newly designed workspace. During the next six months, the company expects to boost its staff of 116 full-time employees by an additional 40 positions, primarily in manufacturing, sales, marketing and operations.
“Our manufacturing capabilities were significantly enhanced with the move through the installation of auxiliary systems, process controls, and automation,” said Scott Lahr, senior vice president of operations for Gilchrist & Soames. “In addition, storage and distribution capabilities increased exponentially.”
Gilchrist & Soames' investment in human resources and facilities will allow the company to meet immediate demand while providing room for continued growth.
