Westlake Village Inn Introduces a New European Influenced Enoteca: Stonehaus
September 14, 2012 - Stonehaus will celebrate its opening on Oct. 14, 2012, at the Westlake Village Inn, a 141-room Mediterranean influenced boutique hotel located 10 miles from Malibu. Designed as a culinary sanctuary for local residents and guests of the Westlake Village Inn, the rustic eatery is nestled among the old-growth olive trees and vines of the hotel's private vineyard, and sets creates an ideal setting for relaxing over fresh and seasonal food and beverages.
Stonehaus offers a unique melange of experiences as a gourmet coffeehouse by day that transforms into a wine bar and tasting room in the evening, offering the best of Europe. Expertly trained baristas will serve private label roasted coffee beverages along with freshly baked breads and pastries each morning. Menu favorites include croissants, and a variety of muffins, bagels and breakfast sandwiches. As the day progresses, the atmosphere relaxes into that of a European winery with extensive patio seating anchored by an exterior stone fireplace, a wood burning pizza oven and tranquil water fountain. The Westlake Village Inn private label vintage wine is available along with a vast selection of California and international varietals and a menu of fine cheeses and charcuterie. The space will lend itself to sommelier-led tastings, pairings and exclusive private dinners.
The rustic building is reminiscent of a Tuscan country house with a stone facade, Italian tile pitched roofs, stone chimney and an outdoor patio with a spectacular 15 by 30-foot waterfall. The new structure, designed by Aaron's Architects of Westlake Village, is 3100 square feet with an elegant tasting room featuring a Bordeaux table for intimate wine tastings with a spacious patio seating offering both vineyard and mountain views.
Stonehaus will be open daily from 6:00am to 10:00pm. Wine tastings are available by appointment and can be reserved by calling (818) 889-0230. Stonehaus is located at the Westlake Village Inn, conveniently situated midway between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara. Styled after a private estate and situated on 17 picturesque acres, the grounds of the Westlake Village Inn are a haven of peace and tranquility with elegantly appointed guest suites and access to a variety of activities that reflect the Southern California outdoor lifestyle. About Westlake Village Inn
Established in 1968 by local developer and philanthropist John L. Notter, the Westlake Village Inn opened as a 75-room hotel serving as a stopover between Los Angeles and California's Central Coast along historic El Camino Real. Over the years, the property has evolved into an elegant and secluded retreat for both leisure and business travelers and is a popular wedding locale. A major renovation in 2007 resulted in the transformation of guestrooms, meeting and event space, restaurants and outdoor areas. Adjacent to the 18-hole Westlake Village Golf Course, the property features 17 acres of outdoor space, 141 rooms including 76 suites and the 1,500 sq. ft. Villa. Notable eateries include the European-style restaurant Mediterraneo and martini bar and nightspot Bogie's. The property is a favorite backdrop for motion picture and television productions, and is ideally located around 40 minutes north of Los Angeles.
