Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Completes $14.5 Million Room Renovation
Southwest Florida's premier luxury leisure resort debuts contemporary look for the holiday travel season
November 2, 2012 - With the busy holiday travel season fast approaching, Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort and Spa is pleased to unveil the results of its $14.5 million room renovation as an early gift to travelers this year. The extensive enhancements, which included a modern makeover of all 454 guestrooms and suites, further help strengthen Hyatt Regency Coconut Point's long standing as the area's premier luxury leisure resort. No stranger to the limelight, this AAA Four Diamond resort has accrued a wealth of awards and accolades since opening its doors more than a decade ago. Recent recognitions include Conde Nast Traveler's Top 121 Golf Resorts in the World in 2012, Travel Leisure's Top 100 Hotels in the World in 2011 and Florida Green Lodging's prestigious Three Palm certification.
"Our room upgrades have helped us to once again raise the bar for hospitality in Southwest Florida," said General Manager Joe Murgalo. "The new, smartly designed rooms better complement the resort's superior offerings, from award-winning cuisine and world-class golf to our 19,000-square-foot spa and state-of-the-art meeting space."
Atlanta-based design firm CMMI turned to the resort's natural surroundings on the breathtaking Estero Bay Aquatic Preserve for inspiration. The team selected a coastal-modernism theme that carefully blends Southwest Florida's beauty and charm with the modern lifestyle of today's travelers. The new rooms feature a neutral palette with bright, bold accents of color, including contemporary Florida-inspired artwork. Each offers a plush king-sized bed or two queen-sized beds, which were previously full-sized beds, to better accommodate families. Bathrooms were additionally enhanced with modern finishes and fixtures, creating a serene, spa-like experience for further relaxation and indulgence.
"Guests who have already had the opportunity to stay in our new rooms have commented on the relaxing environment and bright colors, which provide that authentically Southwest Florida look and feel," said General Manager Joe Murgalo. "But the upgrade includes much more than aesthetics. By listening to the needs of today's modern travelers, we have added many technological conveniences such as more outlets for charging electronic devices. We look forward to welcoming both repeat and future guests to experience our impressive new changes."
