ADD Inc Miami Completes Multi-million Dollar Renovation of Gale South Beach & Regent Hotel

Opening Today, the Historic Hotel Features 87 guest rooms, Rooftop Pool and Terrace and Three Restaurants and Lounges

Miami, FL - December 5, 2012 - ADD Inc Miami and its principal architect and designer Jonathan Cardello continue to place their irrevocable stamp on Miami Beach's Collins Avenue with the completion of Gale South Beach & Regent Hotel, opening today.

The award-winning ADD Inc Miami also spearheaded the restoration of Gale South Beach & Regent Hotel's sister property, Shelborne South Beach, located just north of the famous thoroughfare.

Originally two separate hotels, The Gale and Regent Hotel were built for the same owner in 1941 by L. Murray Dixon, one of the principal architects of Tropical Art Deco style. Although not identical, both hotels evoked the Streamline Modern Style, a late adaptation of Art Deco design. The hotels were connected and developed by prominent Miami-based hospitality group, Menin Hotels.

The opening of Gale South Beach & Regent Hotel follows a $35 million restoration that gutted and rebuilt the original structure of the two adjoining properties, returning it to its original name and magnificence with added influences from the Italian Riviera.

The hotel features 87 guest rooms, three restaurants and lounges, as well as a 5,000 square-foot rooftop terrace with infinity pool and was able to preserve the original terrazzo flooring and reclaimed limestone of the first buildings.

“We wanted to pay homage to the original architectural spirit and design of the two structures, making sure to preserve their integrity, while enhancing it with a sophisticated Italian flair,” stated Jonathan Cardello, Principal-Director, ADD Inc Miami. “The result is a quiet luxury that permeates throughout with furnishings, colors, textures and accents inspired by the hotel's rich history, Italian-influences, and its location across the Atlantic Ocean.”

Hotel Exterior
The hotel's exterior was meticulously recreated, down to every last detail, from its keystone entry façades, to racing stripes at the cornice, curved eyebrows and asymmetrical entry designs with Streamline Modern accent trim throughout.

Hotel Lobby
Upon entering the lobby, visitors are transported back to the hotel's heyday. Guests are greeted by staff in 1940's-inspired attire designed by Noble Uniforms at an imposing, mirrored Art Deco desk surrounded by vintage-inspired, rich leather seating, dark wood floors, and walnut paneling. Classic chandeliers, replicated light fixtures and sconces complete the look of the period.

Rooftop Terrace
The 5,000 square-foot rooftop reflects its heritage and novel Italian design through rich neutral tones, glossy white lounge chairs, oversized sofas and cozy cabanas adorned with flowing silk drapes. Framed by sandblasted Carrera marble flooring and a wooden deck, the hotel's infinity pool overlooks the expansive city skyline and the Atlantic Ocean, the west side of the rooftop overlooks the New World Center, where guests can catch glimpses of the New World Symphony's wallcast, a 7,000 square-foot projection wall.

Guest Rooms
Each guestroom yields a nod to understated Italian chic and 1940's glamour with Art Deco-inspired leather chairs, Russet wood, chrome accents and fixtures, vintage Miami Beach photographs, Italian luxury linens, and marble bath appointments against the backdrop of modern conveniences - “certified green” guest rooms, high-definition LED TVs, IPad docking stations and other state-of-the-art technology.

The Regent Cocktail Club
The Regent Cocktail Club exemplifies the essence of a bygone age with simple, yet elegant Art Deco-inspired furnishings, brass fixtures, rich dark wood floors and paneling paired with colorful accents throughout. The Regent Cocktail Club will serve classic cocktails and light bites, and feature live music.

Dolce Italian
Dolce Italian is set in a 6,000 square-foot space with a historic tin tray ceiling and distressed grey wood paneling that evokes a beach-washed sophistication. Dolce Italian will include an indoor restaurant, outdoor cafe, lounge and bar.
