. October 14, 2008

MACH 2, 2007. The Courtyard by Marriott Oklahoma City Downtown/Bricktown hosted hundreds of Oklahoma City dignitaries and special guests at a reception and open house this week to showcase its completion of a $400,000 upgrade.

The first floor of the three-year-old hotel at 2 West Reno was revamped, including redesign of the lounge, restaurant and guest seating areas.

The hotel is owned by Mr. John Q. Hammons and operated by Springfield, Mo.-based John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts, the nation's leading independent builder, developer, owner and manager of upscale, full-service hotels, resorts and suites.

"We've been very successful at this location," said Jim Rickards, general manager of the hotel. "But we wanted to do something especially grand for the Oklahoma Centennial that symbolizes our belief in exceeding the needs of today's customer. Our owner, Mr. Hammons, enthusiastically encouraged us to do more than just freshen things up."
