Hilton Waikoloa Village Announces Tim Owens as Director of Property Operations

WAIKOLOA, HI. June 16, 2015 - Hilton Waikoloa Village, a Pacific playground located on Hawaii, the Big Island, proudly welcomes Tim Owens to the executive team as director of property operations, overseeing engineering, landscaping, water features and wildlife.

As director of property operations, Owens is responsible for directing maintenance and functionality of the resort's features across its 62 acres, ensuring safe and outstanding guest accommodations while protecting the sheltered habitats that are home to more than 46 species of exotic island wildlife. Owens' duties include managing operations of the facility's three freshwater swimming pools, the mahogany boats and tram operations, and the four-acre ocean-fed swimming and snorkeling lagoon.

With more than 18 years of award-winning service in the sports and hotel industries, Owens most recently operated as director of facilities for the Chicago Cubs baseball team. His distinguished career also includes overseeing building operations for the Florida Panthers hockey team, and service at Intercontinental Hotels Group, where he achieved the largest departmental increase in associate satisfaction, earning the South Florida Inn Key Award for environmental quality in 2011. Additionally, Owens acted as director of engineering at various Starwood Hotels and Resorts properties, including Sheraton, Westin and W Hotels in Atlanta, Georgia and Hilton Head, South Carolina.

A Certified Engineering Operations Executive, Owens holds a degree in Business Management from Bridgewater State University. He is relocating to Hawaii Island from Chicago.
