Commonwealth Hotels Appoints Richard Leon as Director of Sales and Marketing of the Radisson Hotel Marietta

USA, Covington, Kentucky. September 21, 2021

Commonwealth Hotels announced that Richard Leon has been appointed the director of sales and marketing of the Radisson Hotel Marietta. Mr. Leon brings over 30 years of hospitality experience to his new role as director of sales and marketing having previously served as the director of community relations for Solvere Living.

"Mr. Leon is a great addition to the team," said Jennifer Porter, Chief Operating Officer for Commonwealth Hotels. "In his new role he will lead all business development efforts and we look forward to increasing revenue within new and existing markets.

Prior to joining the Radisson Hotel Marietta, Mr. Leon built his career as hospitality sales professional with tenures at award winning properties including the Aruba Marriott Resort and Conference Center, the Atlanta Marriott Perimeter Center, the Twelve Atlantic Station, the Twelve Centennial Park, and the Artmore Hotel. Mr. Leon is a dedicated member of the community and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from City University of New York, New York City, NY.

Architecture & Design: Wellness is Key


Like every other facet of hotel operations, architecture and design firms are adapting their work to ensure the safety and well-being of both guests and staff. New ways to bring Wellness into hotel spaces are being explored and these solutions are taking on many forms. Hotel designs are incorporating more open floor plans, open air spaces, high ceilings, outdoor areas and operable walls into their spaces. Guests no longer want to be packed into tight areas. More "biophilic" elements are also being incorporated, offering guests the sense of being outdoors. Another trend is the reimagining of guest rooms to support remote work capabilities. Some hotels are converting empty guest rooms into office spaces, complete with effective lighting and suitable backgrounds for video conferencing. Dedicated Zoom Rooms are also becoming increasingly popular. The main goal is to provide guests with a positive experience in a space that feels safe and comfortable.
